FRANCESCO FABRIS
Composer and sound engineer for Ben Frost’s Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik, he can already boast a more than impressive resume in spite of his young age.
Beside recording artists such as Damien Rice, Valgeirs, Dustin O’Halloran, and Ben Frost, his work also includes scoring a number of movies as well as the acclaimed series, “Dark”.
He’s also busy on the live performance and art installation end of things, leading him to appear on stages and clubs around the globe.
"Living in Iceland during this pandemia I isolated myself being in the studio just with machines or going outside in the middle of nowhere surrounded only by the nordic landscapes with no one around.
Accordingly, the selection that came out is based either on processed field recordings or synths sketches. The raw materials I used are recordings of glaciers, frozen lakes, water, wind and various metal surfaces together with some modules like Erbe-verb, Moog Mother32, DFAM, Clouds, Field Kit, Dual Looping Delay, Fuzz Factory and a few Max4Live patches.
I then re-amped all samples in the same room with the aim of giving them a more unified identity".
